Dam Funk is bringing back that West Coast Electro-Funk sound with his newest LP ‘Toeachizown’ (Stones Throw Records).
I can’t help but reminisce of the days & nights I spent with my pop-n-locking crew back in Ridgewood (Shout outs to Bhakti+Jahnu+Cyn+Josh…Miss ya’ll) or listening to ‘Purple Rain’; there’s definitely Prince references all over Dam’s catalogue (and I love it).

Definitely check out Osborne’s new self-titled LP on Spectral Sound (Ghostly Int’l)…It was released a while ago, but I still bump it in my car on my late night excursions to nowhere in particular. The LP is all over the place, but in the best way possible. From Soulful Deep House (‘Ruling’) to Tribal Inspired Minimal Beats (‘Afrika’) to Straight up Left Field 8-bit Space music (‘Detune‘), Osborne has got something for everyone (and by everyone I mean MUSIC GEEKS)…..
